Pediatricians urged to advise patients on obesity

Doctors from Tennessee's primary medical school are urging pediatricians to pay more attention to whether their young patients are overweight.

Four faculty members at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center are providing pediatricians with reference materials and treatment suggestions to work into their everyday routines for seeing patients.

The materials, sent to 200 physicians, include lifestyle evaluation forms, lists of recommended lab tests, sample diets and information on insurance billing for treating obesity.
