Trade Snickers for sneakers, Arkansas governor urges

Governor Mike Huckabee says it's time for Arkansans to "trade some Snickers for some sneakers."

Speaking to more than 450 local health and education professionals at a conference August 10, 2004, Huckabee vowed to use his "Healthy Arkansas" initiative and other new policies to start changing the state's unhealthy culture before he leaves office in 2006.

Healthy Arkansas "is not just a campaign, but an effort to change the culture of a state steeped in bad health habits," said the governor, who says his loss of 105 pounds improved his own health.
