ApoB, hypertriglyceridemia associated with CVD in obese older Turkish women

In obese, postmenopausal Turkish women, apolipoprotein B (apoB) is associated with proatherogenic risk factors, whereas elevated apo B levels accompanied by very high triglyceride levels is linked to increased coronary disease risk, report Istanbul University cardiologists. A. Onat and colleagues investigated "possible pathophysiological relationships among a wide array of proatherogenic risk factors in postmenopausal women." Fasting lipids, apoB, BMI (body mass index), and waist circumference data were collected on 178 postmenopausal women participating in the Turkish Adult Risk Factor Study.
