Research provides data on arterial hypertension and socioeconomic factors

A recent study reported on the prevalence and control of hypertension in Latvia.

According to published research from Latvia, "[We present the] analysis of four epidemiological data base (Dbase)-randomized populations of Latvia (country), Riga (city), Kuldiga (countryside) and the Dbase of the WHO questionnaire 'Hypertension and Control'."

V. Dzerve and colleagues of the Latvian Institute of Cardiology reported, "Extremely high prevalence of arterial hypertension (AH) is demonstrated in three samples of population. Close relationship between overweight and AH, hypercholesterol and AH in city and village populations is shown."
