Defibrillator discharge reported after consuming weight loss supplement

Researchers report a case of inappropriate implantable cardioverter defibrillator discharge following consumption of a dietary weight loss supplement in a recent issue of the journal Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology.

According to a study from the United States, "This report describes the clinical course of a 40-year-old female who experienced repetitive ICD firing after consuming Metobolife 356, a multicomponent dietary weight loss supplement."
