No link found between gene polymorphism and GDM in a Taiwanese population

Although the Trp64Arg polymorphism of beta(3)-adrenergic receptor (ADRB3) has been reported to be associated with insulin resistance and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), no such link was found in a group of pregnant Taiwanese women. P.J. Tsai of the Taipei Municipal Women's & Children's Hospital and colleagues recruited 299 pregnant women [(mean ± SD), 31.1 ± 4.2 years] for their study.
