GDM incidence higher in Indian urbanites

Researchers have noted a higher incidence of gestation diabetes mellitus in Kashmiri women living in urban areas than in those living in rural areas.

According to a recent study published in the journal Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, "This prospective study was carried out to determine the prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in Kashmiri women and to assess the effect of various demographic factors."
