Researchers describe findings in diabetes therapy studies

Diabetes therapy research advances have been reported from Turkey and Switzerland.

Study 1: Quercetin, a flavonoid antioxidant, prevents and protects oxidative stress and beta-cell damage in the rat pancreas.

According to recent research from Turkey, "The aim of the present study was the evaluation of possible protective effects of quercetin (QE) against beta-cell damage in experimental streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetes in rats. STZ was injected intraperitoneally at a single dose of 50 mg/kg for diabetes induction.
