Glucosidase inhibitor effects on hyperglycemia linked to symptoms

The effect of two alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, voglibose and acarbose, on postprandial hyperglycemia correlates with subjective abdominal symptoms.

According to recent research from Japan, "To assess the possible difference in effectiveness of 2 alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, voglibose and acarbose, the relationship between postprandial hyperglycemia and subjective abdominal symptoms was investigated. A total of 21 inpatients with type 2 diabetes were recruited to a single-center, two-period, crossover trial.
