Endometrial Cancer Risk Factors

Comorbidities, genetics, and diet are risk factors

The risk of having endometrial cancer increases with obesity, thyroid alterations, hypercholesterolemia, and mellitus diabetes. It also is increased in those women who have a family history of this type of cancer and also with the consumption of animal fat, visceras, and smoked fish, according to a recent study.

The research was done by Rocio Montejo, PhD, as part of her doctoral studies at the Public University of Navarra, Spain.
