Factors predicting metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes presented

Researchers present the factors predictive of metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes against a background of hypertension in a recent issue of the European Journal of Clinical Investigation.

"The metabolic syndrome (MetS), predicting coronary heart disease (CHD), is a compound of risk factors including diabetes, obesity and hypertension. The relationship between the development of MetS, diabetes and CHD in patients with established hypertension is unclear.
