Recovery of vecuronium neuromuscular block delayed in diabetic patients

The recovery of vecuronium neuromuscular block in diabetic patients is delayed during sevoflurane anesthesia.

In a recent article published in the Canadian Journal of Anaesthesia - Journal Canadien D Anesthesie, scientists in Japan conducted a study "To study recovery from vecuronium-induced neuromuscular block in diabetic patients during total iv or sevoflurane anesthesia. Thirty diabetic patients were assigned to diabetes mellitus (DM)-total iv anesthesia (TIVA); (n=15) or DM-sevoflurane (S) groups (n=15).
