U.S. NIH releases statement on its commitment to obesity and diabetes research

On January 12, 2006, Allen M. Spiegel, MD, director, U.S. National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and Elizabeth G. Nabel, MD, director, U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), issued the following statement on the U.S. National Institutes of Health research on obesity and type 2 diabetes:
