Impaired fasting glucose is independently related to mortality risks for cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

According to recent research published in the journal Diabetes Care, "The objective of this article was to assess mortality risks at different levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG) in Taiwan, with particular attention to those prediabetic subjects with impaired fasting glucose (IFG).
