According to recent research published in the journal Clinical Science, "Anemia is common in patients with diabetes and associated with an increased risk of diabetic complications. Although the role of anemia in heart failure is established, we hypothesize that anemia also contributes to an increased risk of cardiac dysfunction in patients with Type 2 diabetes."
