According to recent research from Japan, "Coronary arteriosclerotic heart disease frequently develops in patients with diabetes. Decreased serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentration and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particle size, accompanied by hypertriglyceridemia, are associated with the onset of atherosclerosis."
