The link between obesity and leukocyte count was highly dependent on the presence of metabolic syndrome. "Obesity and metabolic syndrome (MS), which often coexist, are associated with an increased cardiovascular risk. An increased leukocyte count is also associated with an increased cardiovascular risk.
