"The purpose of this project was to retrospectively compare and correlate body mass index (BMI) and hemodynamics in hypertensive and normotensive patients undergoing intravenous sedation for dentoalveolar surgery. A retrospective chart analysis of 263 consecutive male patients undergoing intravenous (IV) sedation for dentoalveolar surgery was divided into 5 BMI groups: underweight, normal weight, overweight, obese, extremely obese," investigators in the United States report.
