Research from the United States, Wales and France add new data to hypertension body of knowledge

New findings from the United States, Wales and France describe advances in hypertension.

Study 1: Impaired glucose tolerance or impaired fasting glucose also greatly increased the cardiovascular disease risk in prehypertensive people.

According to a study from the United States, "There are few data about the impact of the recently-defined category of prehypertension (systolic blood pressure 120 to 139 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure 80 to 89 mmHg) on cardiovascular disease incidence. It is also unknown whether this association differs between individuals with or without diabetes."
