Recent findings from Japan, Canada and Belgium illuminate research in diabetes

Investigators in Japan, Canada and Belgium have published new diabetes data.

Study 1: Gatifloxacin induces insulin and epinephrine secretion differently in normal and diabetic rats.

In a recently published study, investigators in Japan conducted a study "to clarify the mechanisms of gatifloxacin (GFLX)-induced hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, the effect of GFLX on serum glucose levels was investigated in normal and diabetic rats. Rats received an intravenous injection of GFLX and their arterial blood was sampled periodically."
