Adiponectin suppresses high-glucose-induced reactive oxygen species

According to recently published research from the United States, adiponectin suppresses high-glucose-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) in vascular endothelial cells.

"Adiponectin is an abundant adipocyte-derived plasma protein with antiatherosclerotic effects. Vascular signal transduction by adiponectin is poorly understood and may involve W-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPIC), cAMP signaling, and other pathways," wrote R. Ouedraogo and colleagues, Thomas Jefferson University.
