Synaptosomal protein of 25 kDa and syntaxin 1 needed for rapid exocytosis in beta cells

"SNARE-proteins (soluble NSF-attachment protein receptor) are important for Ca2+-dependent exocytosis. We have used capacitance measurements and confocal imaging to dissect the role of synaptosomal protein of 25 kDa (SNAP-25) and syntaxin 1 in rapid exocytosis in insulin-secreting pancreatic beta-cells," scientists in Sweden report.
