Data on Lipitor use in heart disease, metabolic syndrome published

New data published in the online version of The Lancet show that in patients with preexisting heart disease who also had a specific cluster of cardiovascular risk factors, consistent with the metabolic syndrome, intensive treatment with Lipitor 80mg reduced their chances of having a heart attack or stroke.

This is the largest analysis conducted to assess heart disease patients who have metabolic syndrome and have taken statins.
