Electrogastrography derangement is present in 71% of newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes in childhood.

In a recent study, researchers in Poland conducted a study "to evaluate gastric myoelectrical activity in children with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes melliltus (T1DM) in relation to blood glucose control and visceral neuropathy."
