Research from Selcuk University provide new insights into obesity and diabetes in adolescents

Research findings, "Assessment of abnormal glucose homeostasis and insulin resistance in Turkish obese children and adolescents," are discussed in a new report. According to a study from Konya, Turkey, "The worldwide increase in the prevalence of childhood obesity is reaching epidemic proportions and is associated with a dramatic rise in cases of type 2 diabetes. We determined the prevalence of impaired glucose regulation and insulin resistance in obese children and adolescents."
