Study findings about diabetes are outlined in reports from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, U.S.

Study 1: Research findings, "Melanin concentrating hormone is a novel regulator of islet function and growth," are discussed in a new report. "Melanin concentrating hormone (MCH) is a hypothalamic neuropeptide known to play a critical role in energy balance. We have previously reported that overexpression of MCH is associated with mild obesity," scientists writing in the journal Diabetes report.
