Study findings from Mount Sinai School of Medicine broaden understanding of obesity and diabetes therapy

A report, 'Obesity and the polycystic ovary syndrome,' is newly published data in The Medical Clinics of North America. "Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is extremely common among reproductive-aged women, but often goes undiagnosed. PCOS is associated with the metabolic syndrome and carries a greatly increased risk of impaired glucose tolerance and type 2 diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular risks," researchers in the United States report.
