Researchers from University of Barcelona detail findings in HIV/AIDS

Fresh data on HIV/AIDS are presented in the report 'Lipodystrophy in HIV 1-infected patients: lessons for obesity research.' According to recent research published in the International Journal of Obesity, "Lipodystrophy is a common alteration in HIV 1-infected patients under anti-retroviral treatment. This syndrome is usually associated with peripheral lipoatrophy, central adiposity and, in some cases, lipomatosis, as well as systemic insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia."
