New weight gain data have been reported by researchers at University of Toronto, Center for Addiction and Mental Health

Current study results from the report, 'Association of antipsychotic induced weight gain and body mass index with GNB3 gene: a meta-analysis,' have been published. According to recent research from Canada, "It has been reported that C825T variant in the gene encoding the G-protein subunit beta3 (GNB3) is associated with antipsychotic-induced weight gain and obesity. We investigated the association of the GNB3 and antipsychotic-induced weight gain as well as body mass index (BMI) using meta-analytical techniques."
