Scale Venture Partners Records 4 Exits in Challenging 2008; Outlines Investment Opportunities for 2009

Scale Venture Partners announced that it closed 2008 with four liquidity events, including three acquisitions and one initial public offering. The firm invested more than $47 million in 24 companies including Sonexa Therapeutics, a San Diego-based company, developing solutions for Alzheimer's and dementia. In 2009, ScaleVP believes that the market will reward products and services that drive efficiencies and reduce costs. In technology, that will translate into investments in areas such as open source and crowd-sourcing, while new healthcare investments will address chronic illnesses like the diabetes / obesity epidemic, which creates significant burdens on the healthcare system.
