More Than $180,000 in Grants Awarded to Schools and Community Groups to Help Fight Childhood Obesity

UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) has awarded more than 265 grants of up to $1,000 to schools and youth-focused, community-based organizations in 35 states and the District of Columbia that have developed programs to fight childhood obesity in their communities.

UnitedHealth HEROES Grants were awarded to programs that have demonstrated a clear understanding of the health risks associated with pediatric obesity; proposed creative solutions to fight obesity in their neighborhoods and communities; and can be easily implemented, scaled and measured.
