Researchers from Louisiana State University, Department of Biological Sciences report on findings in obesity and diabetes

A report, 'Transcriptional factors that promote formation of white adipose tissue,' is newly published data in Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology. "Adipocytes are highly specialized cells that play a major role in energy homeostasis in vertebrate organisms. Excess adipocyte size or number is a hallmark of obesity, which is currently a global epidemic," scientists writing in the journal Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology report.
