2011 OCT 24 -- According to the authors of recent research published in the journal Diabetes Obesity & Metabolism, "Glucagon secretion is regulated by glucose but the mechanisms involved remain hotly debated. Both intrinsic (within the alpha-cell itself) and paracrine (mediated by factors released beta- and/or delta-cells) have been postulated."
