Michigan Will Become 26th State to Pass Comprehensive Smokefree Air Law

Today, Michigan residents have reason to celebrate. They will be breathing easier as Michigan will now become the 26th state in the nation to pass a comprehensive smokefree air law protecting almost everyone from secondhand smoke in public places and workplaces, including restaurants and bars.

The American Lung Association was disappointed to see the gaming floors of casinos left out of the final legislation, and hopes Michigan lawmakers will consider fully protecting workers in casinos in the future.
