Argatroban meets primary endpoints in phase II study

Texas Biotechnology Corporation (TXBI) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) announced the results of ARGIS-I, a phase II multicenter clinical trial designed to assess the safety of the direct thrombin inhibitor Argatroban in patients with acute ischemic stroke administered within 12 hours of symptom onset. Presented at the American Stroke Association's 28th International Stroke Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, the placebo-controlled study supported the tolerability of Argatroban, showing no statistically significant differences between Argatroban and placebo in symptomatic or asymptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) which is a major concern in stroke patients receiving...
