New findings in central nervous system described by E. Agius and co-researchers

New investigation results, 'Role of BMPs in controlling the spatial and temporal origin of GFAP astrocytes in the embryonic spinal cord,' are detailed in a study published in Developmental Biology. According to a study from Toulouse, France, "In the vertebrate central nervous system (CNS), astrocytes are the most abundant and functionally diverse glial cell population. However, the mechanisms underlying their specification and differentiation are still poorly understood."
