Studies from Scripps Research Institute Yield New Information about Infectious Diseases

2012 FEB 13 -- "Prion diseases are neurodegenerative conditions associated with a misfolded and infectious protein, scrapie prion protein (PrPSc). PrPSc propagates prion diseases within and between species and thus poses risks to public health," scientists in Jupiter, Florida report.
