FDA OKs reformulated Clarinex orally disintegrating prescription antihistamine

Schering-Plough Corp. (SGP) announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved reformulated Clarinex (desloratadine 2.5 mg and 5 mg) Reditabs tablets for the treatment of allergy symptoms caused by both perennial indoor and seasonal outdoor allergens and chronic idiopathic urticaria, or hives of unknown cause, in adults and children 6 years of age and older. The tablet disintegrates orally, is taken once-daily for 24-hour relief, and now comes in a new "tutti frutti" flavor.
