ACT 3 atrial fibrillation trial enrollment completed

Cardiome Pharma Corp (CRME, COM) announced that it has completed patient enrollment in its second pivotal phase III atrial fibrillation trial, ACT 3. The study is being conducted by co-development partner Astellas Pharma U.S., Inc. (formed on April 1, 2005, by the merger of Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.). The study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of intravenous RSD1235 in 276 patients with atrial arrhythmia. The multinational placebo-controlled study is being conducted at more than 50 centers.
