Generics erosion will lead to slow market growth for chronic heart failure treatment

Decision Resources, Inc., one of the world's leading research and advisory firms focusing on pharmaceutical and healthcare issues, has found generics erosion, particularly for best-selling beta blockers and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, will result in slow market growth for the treatment of chronic heart failure. The new Pharmacor report entitled "Chronic Heart Failure" finds that recent guidelines recommending more widespread use of beta blockers should spur near-term increased sales of carvedilol, GlaxoSmithKline's Coreg and Roche's Dilatrend, as well as metoprolol succinate, AstraZeneca's Toprol XL.
