Surgical products, services companies partner to target correctional health market

With the signing of a mutual provider agreement with Mobile Medical International Corporation, Somnia, Inc. has entered the correctional healthcare market. Somnia's expertise in the outpatient surgical venue will be combined with Mobile Medical's accredited mobile surgical units for use by correction departments. According to the American Correctional Association, inmate healthcare costs make up 10% of state correctional budgets. The average inmate cost for healthcare is approximately $9.80 per day or $3,580 per year. With rising inmate populations, this is a tremendous financial burden for state budgets.
