Market research firm study shows companies spent more than $1 trillion on acquisitions in 2005

To understand how some of the world's best companies successfully manage post mergers and acquisitions (M&A) performance, benchmarking firm Best Practices, LLC studied more than 50 top companies and determined that in 2005, companies spent more than $1 trillion to buy other companies, up from $871 billion in 2004 and $467 billion in 2002.
