Digital fusion imaging diagnosed local recurrence of rectal cancer

Digital fusion image (FI) of positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) helped to diagnose local recurrence of rectal cancer.

"The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical and therapeutic value of digital FI of PET using F-18-fluorodeoxy glucose and CT in patients who were suspected of having a local recurrence of rectal cancer," scientists writing in the journal Annals of Surgical Oncology reported.
