Study results from University Hospital provide new insights into acidosis cell biology

A new study, 'Effect of acidic reperfusion on prolongation of intracellular acidosis and myocardial salvage,' is now available. "It has been proposed that intracellular acidosis may be the basis of the cardioprotection of different interventions, including postconditioning. However, contradictory reports exist on the effects of acidic reperfusion on myocardial salvage," investigators in Barcelona, Spain report.
