Affymetrix Announces Preliminary First Quarter Revenue

Affymetrix, Inc. (Nasdaq:AFFX), reported that based on preliminary financial data, the Company expects total revenue for the first quarter of 2008 to be approximately $170 million, including an intellectual property payment of $90 million received by the Company in connection with a previously announced settlement of patent litigation. For fiscal-year 2008, the Company has reduced its full year revenue guidance from the previous range of $505 to $525 million to a new range of $490 to $510 million, a decrease of approximately 3%.
