BCE asks Supreme Court of Canada for expedited process

BCE (TSX, NYSE: BCE) announced that it has filed a motion seeking direction from the Supreme Court of Canada for an expedited process to hear both an application for leave to appeal and the appeal itself, if leave is granted, of the May 21, 2008, Quebec Court of Appeal decision denying the company's plan of arrangement related to BCE's proposed privatization. In light of the Quebec Court of Appeal's decision, the expected timing for the closing of the transaction will be contingent on the Supreme Court of Canada granting leave to appeal and the timing related to any such appeal.
