Half Moon Bay Mayor Bonnie McClung Praises California Assembly for Passing AB 1991 With Bi-Partisan Support



June 15th, 2008

Half Moon Bay Mayor Bonnie McClung reacted today to the California Assembly's 45 to 19 vote in favor of AB 1991, the special rescue bill that will allow the City to avoid an $18 million payment in settlement of a $41.1 million court-imposed liability. "With this vote, the City is one step closer to achieving the best possible resolution to the Beachwood litigation and avoiding a multi-generation burden on the City if AB 1991 fails," said Mayor McClung.

As a result of today's vote, AB 1991 will be sent to the Senate. If the Senate passes the bill and Governor Schwarzenegger signs it into law, the vesting tentative maps for Beachwood and Glencree, which were originally...
