ATF Partners With FOX 2 WJBK-TV and the Detroit Red Wings to Produce Public Service Announcement on Fireworks, Explosives Safety

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) recently partnered with Fox 2 Detroit and the Detroit Red Wings to produce a Public Service Announcement (PSA) that is currently airing in the Detroit area. The PSA encourages the public to be safe and to provide information to ATF if they are aware of illegal fireworks or explosives activity. On July 2, 2007, a mother of three young boys lost her life in Melvindale, Mich., after she was struck in the face by an illegally obtained commercial display firework.
