L-3 Selected to Produce New Outer P-3 Wings for U.S. Navy

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced that its Integrated Systems Group has been awarded a $60.6 million contract to produce new outer wings for U.S. Navy P-3 aircraft. Under the program, L-3 will produce four sets of new wings for the U.S. Navy, which will extend the life of its critical P-3 maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft fleet. The company developed modern tooling that will result in the production of the most advanced wing configuration available, using the U.S. Navy's latest P-3 parts and materials for improved resistance to fatigue and corrosion.
