In conjunction with its 50th anniversary, AARP established a new annual Congressional Awards program, and this year recognizes Senator Barbara Mikulski with AARP's Legislative Achievement Award for her leadership on keeping older Americans safe from falls. Because of Senator Mikulski's outstanding leadership as a co-sponsor of the Safety of Seniors Act, our nation now has a promising strategy for effective intervention against the increasing incidence of falls among older Americans.
